Mit den diesjährigen 29. AVN Awards sind, nach den XBIZ Awards 2012 in der letzten Woche, die beiden großen US-amerikanischen Adult Award und Trade Shows über die Bühne gegangen.
Die AVN Awards 2012 fanden in diesem Jahr in der „The Joint concert hall“ statt, die zum Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas gehört. Die Award Show öffnete mit einer Präsentation von Magik View Entertainment Filmen, dem sich ein Tribut an die guten alten Zeiten und die Neuzugänge der „AVN Hall of Fame“ anschloss.
Für große Aufmerksamkeit sorgte der Auftritt und die artistische Bühnenshow von Belladonna und den „Belladonna Dancers“, bevor die ersten Gewinner des Jahres bekannt gegeben wurden.
Durch die Show führte in diesem Jahr der Comedian Dave Attell aus der HBO Serie „Dave’s Old Porn“ und seine „Partnerinnen“ Bree Olson and Sunny Leone. Unterstützt wurden sie bei der Übergabe der Awards unter anderem von Riley Steele, Kaylani Lei und Chyna.
Für eine Überraschung sorgte zudem noch Dale DaBone, der den „Best Actor Award“ erhielt und mitteilte, dass er heiraten wird. Ein Ende seiner Porno-Karriere stehe damit aber noch nicht an.
Zum ersten Mal wurde in diesem Jahr außerdem der „AVN Visionary Award“ verliehen, den Girls Gone Wild Erfinder Joe Francis an Steve Hirsch von Vivid Entertainment verlieh.
