Nachdem in Deutschland bekanntlich das Jahr mit den erotixxx-Awards während der Venus endet, ist dies in den USA meist Anfang des Jahres der Fall:
Los geht es diesmal mit den VOD-Awards, die bereits zum fünften Mal in Folge vom amerikanischen VOD-Giganten AEBN initiiert und veranstaltet wurden. Dabei werden die Gewinner ganz einfach aufgrund der von den Nutzern gesehenen Minuten im Lauf eines Jahres ermittelt.
Die Nominierungen wurden bereits im November angekündigt, während die Gewinner erst Anfang Januar bekannt gegeben wurden.

Zwischen den beiden Awards wurden am 8. Januar noch erstmals die TrannyAwards verliehen. Da sich diese Nische stetig wachsender Beliebtheit erfreut, organisierte die US-Company Grooby Productions mit einigen anderen TS-Websites die ersten Awards dieser Art.
Die Fans konnten dafür Nominierungen einreichen und die Wahl wurde von 7 fachkundigen Juroren nach einem Punktesystem getroffen. Dabei wussten die Juroren allerdings nicht, wer mit ihnen noch der Jury angehört. Die Gewinner wurden mit Geld- und Sachpreisen ausgezeichnet.
